imac issues.

Well, my dad just got his 24 inch all-in-one imac yesterday basically and when it was all set up and such - he couldn't open any of the folders, shortcuts and most importantly the HD .. (can't install any programs through CDs either)

- we tried restarting (nothing)
- we tried reinstalling through the Mac OS X disks (nothing)
- we compared the preferences and such with the macbook (nothing rly)

:/ Anyone got any ideas on this? lol we might just go to an apple store and see what is up but dunno
( Oh and I am aware lepoard is coming out this month so don't question why my dad bought an imac now.. Lol )

if its a brand new mac, you need to take it back to apple. yes its a pain, but thats the best thing, as it should be working right off the bat. i'd call them before hand and set up an appointment with the techs so that they can get you taken care of right away.
