help! lik 2 copy G3PB onto identical G3PB

HELLO ! I've got two identical Mac Wallstreet Powerbook G3s ... same everything-96M RAM, 2Gig HD, OS 9.2.2, all harware+extras are the same ... I've got one* setup and working just the way I want it to ... how can I copy the entire hard drive of the one* onto the other ... sure would save a lot of setup time ... I couldn't seem to get the Powerbook SCSI Disk Mode feature to work[SCSI to SCSI] ... what am I doin' wrong ?
thanks in advance, Tom Oh !

Re: help! lik 2 copy G3PB onto identical G3PB

well, you should only be setting up the book you want to copy to in scsi mode. and on those older books it required a special cable. i have a book, and the cable i got will only put it into scsi mode and not allow me to attach scsi devices. you may have the cable that allows you to use scsi devices, but not scsi disk mode. see if you can tell us what cable you have. are there any numbers on it.

Re: help! lik 2 copy G3PB onto identical G3PB

thanks for the reply folk ... wanna know what connecters I've got? ...here it is > I got two Powerbook SCSI Adapters, they convert the HDI-30 Female Powerbook SCSI Port to an Apple Mac DB25 Female SCSI Port, the manufacturer is Belkin, cata.# F2N985 ... as I understand it, when the adapters are plugged into each of the two powerbooks it allows for a standard Apple Mac DB25 male to male cable to conbnect the two Mac Wallstreet Powerbook G3s ... could it be the cable I'm using ? ... HELP ! and THANKS ! all at the same time you are appreciated, Tom Oh !

it does sound like that the cable you have is not for using the book in scsi disk mode, but to allow you to use scsi devices with the laptop. where you can find the other cable that you need, i'm not sure. i'd have to see if i can find mine and see if its got any numbers on it that may lead to something you can get.
