Wireless DSL modem/router question
Hello,
Need some advice. I want to get very good DSL modem/router. Need to be able to hardwire at least two PCs & go wireless w/ two new MacBooks. VERY IMPORTANT....need to be able to bridge the modem so I can remote desktop the primary PC. Any product thoughts? fmg |

Re: Wireless DSL modem/router question
just about any name brand router will do what you need, eg. netgear, linksys. as for the modem, i haven't seen a dsl modem/router in a long, long time. best just to get a modem and then a separate router.

Re: Wireless DSL modem/router question
I second what sinclair says. Through various moves/changes of providers, I've switched back and forth between cable and DSL. Usually the company would provide a modem, but most of the modems I've seen are just a modem with one ethernet jack.
The only DSL modem/router I've used was a low quality Actiontec (which I will now avoid whenever possible). Wireless with it was a ridiculously priced extra for the modem. I personally just got a Belkin 54g wireless router because it was on sale, but a Linksys, NetGear, D-Link (or other well known brand that I forgot). So far I've had zero problems in the 2.5 to 3 years I've had mine.
