Hidden files

and how to access them?

Specifically on the location of drivers!

I don't know where the drivers are, but typing
Code:
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
then hitting enter, then typing
Code:
killall Finder
and hitting enter again in Terminal will show all of your hidden files and help you on your search.

To re-hide your hidden files when you are done, do the same thing replacing TRUE with FALSE.

I need to get some driver information off of one so I can install them on another to get a printer working... there was a disk, but alas it has been lost... or eaten, who knows with Mac's these days.

They make it look so easy in the commercial.

Why not just download the driver from the site of the printer manufacturer?

yes, all printer makers have the latest drivers for free downloads on their sites. and a printer driver isn't something that you can just find and copy from one computer to another, there are too many parts all over, like the spooler and other printer software that causes the driver to run. besides, have you tried setting up the printer with just the os yet? it does include a basic driver that will print to most printers out there.

although it is well worth it finding the specific driver needed as I have found with the generic stock drivers that some functions are not there like double-sided printing, which you'd think woud be easy

they couldn't help you anyway, as its not their printer. i've never had a problem like this with macs. guess i don't use less know name brands either. its always best to stick with the big three printer makers (epson, hp, canon) if you have a mac.
