I know this is probably on of the most asked Q's pertaining to PC's & Mac's, but the FAQ search engine came up dry.
I found an iBook in a thrift store and would like to load software on it that I can only reach through my PC. I have a CD-R/DVD-ROM on both computers, as well as the 3.5" floppy.Would someone please give me some tips? Thanks! This forum is the best! ![]() ![]() ![]() -Andy |

the ibook has a ethernet port, so it can plug into the network like any other computer. also, if it has a firewire port, you may be able to put it into firewire disk mode, but i'm not sure that will work with a pc, as the file format of the ibook will be to different from windows. also, burn the files to cd, and the mac should read the pc cds fine.
your lucky, i can never find any good mac stuff round here in thrift stores...

Thanks, sinclair_tm! It also has USB for jumpsticks, but I don't think it'll like my PC-formatted one. I may have to get another just for the Mac...
I'll try the CD load... Does the iBook have an IR port? If so, I may be able to beam the files in from my PPC. -Andy |

ibooks don't have ir ports. but it will use your usb jumpsticks just fine, as long as the os is 9.1 or later. if its running os x, then any pc cd/dvd/jumpdrive/hard drive will mount and be readable by the mac.
