Help with mac computers..

At work we got these mac computers that students use... And the students changed the passwords on them.. I tryed restoring the computers but they need a password to do that... How do i find out what kind of mac they are? and how do i recover the passwords? and ohh one more thing all the computers have this program called success maker... I need to know how to remove and reinstall the program... It runs from a sever....

besides, that info is all over the web. besides, why were students given the admin passwords? the smart thing would have to been to enable the root account, give it a password, and keep that one only to the it dept. as for the app, what does the documentation that came with it say?
