trouble with iMovie

I made a movie in iMovie. It is finished. However I want to make a standard file. I notice that it was automatically saved as a quicktime file, however the file is only 88kb and is a "empty .mov file" even though I can watch it through there. How should I compress the file from iMovie in order to make it a standard, working, and uploadable video?

did you use the export command? when you use the export command, you are given several options on file types, and if i remember correctlly, one is for the web. doing that should make a file that you can upload to the internet.
