Hi all !
OpenBSD, Pure-FTPd 1.0.20 From server: I can connect to 127.0.0.1, but when I try to connect to Ip server Pure-FTPd (ftp 192.x.x.x) it is very slowly -1 or 2 minutes, no messages- and after that I can see the welcome of the server. From another PC on the same LAN: I can' connect! ftp 192.x.x.x Connected to 192.x.x.x After 1 or 2 minutes a get: Connection closed by remote host. Using SmartFtp client, same thing: [16:48:06] SmartFTP v2.0.995.19 [16:48:07] Resolving host name "192.x.x.x" [16:48:07] Connecting to 192.x.x.x Port: 21 [16:48:07] Connected to 192.x.x.x. [16:48:47] Timeout (40s). [16:48:47] Active Help: http://www.smartftp.com/support/kb/index.php/58 [16:48:47] Client closed the connection. [16:48:47] Cannot login waiting to retry (30s)... [16:49:17] Continue to login attempt 2... bla..bla.. Ping from another PC (same LAN) works fine... The server is up: ps -x 18019 C0 I+ 0:00.04 pure-ftpd: -pure-ftpd (SERVER) (pure-ftpd). No Firewalls... This server worked fine, but after I changed the router... problem... The arp table is fine. Respects & Thanks Bye |

Since you mentioned the router in the equasion, it sounds like the router configuration, or there's a crossover cable where a straight cable should be, or vice-versa. It really does sound like a cable issue.

I reinstalled the server, and same delay...
Now it's working fine! The only thing that I changed: the DNS server. I don't know the reason but this seems to be the solution... First in /etc/resolv.conf: #DNS IP ADDRESS IP_intern_of_my_router And my old router routed my name request to the dns server ISP... But seems that the new (and SMART linksys) can not! Or someth. Now I put the ISP DNS IP in my /etc/resolv.conf Happy to share my mistakes with you, Andrei |
