Ubuntu troubles
Hey my ubuntu crashed and is basically dead but I need a file off there. Any suggestions for helping me?

Could you describe what happened and what the computer's current behavior is when you try to boot Ubuntu? Posting error messages will also help. It could also help to know the format of the drive/partition.
An idea is to get boot from a liveCD and move whatever file you need to a flash drive (or any other external USB/FireWire storage device). Of course, this will only work if the drive doesn't have an issue preventing it from being mounted and accessed from within the liveCD environment. |
