OS: Linux RedHat and XP

OS not found

Hi all,

I had RH9 working fine. (I guess I should have stuck there :-) ).

Well,.. I ran Partition Magic 8 to install another partition with WinXP on it.

No problems there and I made XP as the Active partition for the install and that session.

Then I decided that I've had enough of my fun with WinXP and decided to go back to the wonderful world of RH.

I set the /boot as the active partition (even hide the NTFS of WinXP partition),.. but then,.. I got stuck where my 'puter lets me know that no os was found.

So this is a grub problem I think or someother bootstrap problem that I don't know how to resolve.

Any takers?

You'll need to reinstall grub, unfortunately I'm not super familar with installing grub so I won't be able to help you in terms of how to reinstall from Redhat's rescue mode via the CD

A friend of mine came over two days ago and was able to re-install grub. Unfortunatly I wasn't able to follow on how exactly he did it, so I just hope I won't have to do it again.

Thanks for your response.
