XINE & Mplayer are not playing DAT files
I've RedHat 9. Mplayer and Xine are installed.
whenever i play a DAT file saved on my hard disk the following errors are coming - 1) with XINE. There is no demuxer plugin available to handle 'avseq01.dat'. Usually this means that the file format was not recognized. & 2) with Mplayer. Error opening/initializing the selected video_out(-vo) device. these DAT files are palying fine by Windows Media Player in XP. when i insert a VCD the XINE plays it. but still Mplayer is not playing any VCD. it is giving the same problem written above. help me. thanks. |

Xine or mplayer? I wasn't aware that Mplayer had a GUI, I always launch it from the command line. As far as Xine goes I checked out the options and don't see anywhere to add additional parameters when it launches, your best bet would be to contact the dev group mailing list for Xine for info on that part of it :)
