linux destroyed both my hard drives!

so i have a copy of linux on 2 hard drives neither of which i can read anything. the only thing i can do is boot to a dos boot disk, even then if i try anything that has to access a hard disk it says error reading fixed disk. same thing with win2k boot disk. pleae help

It can't read the hard disk because its looking for a windows file system (ie fat16/32 or NTFS). When you attempt to boot the disk directly do you get any errors and if so what are they?

Boot disk failure. insert system disk and press enter...

all i have is a dos 6.22 boot diskette and a win2k boot cd

You need to check your bootable disk config in the bios then.

When you installed Linux did you make a recovery disk? All you need is a Linux Disk then you will be able to Mount the HDs to see the Data.
