Fedora/Redhat
Windows XP will always remain my primary OS. I'm curious to see what the Linux Fedora OS looks like so I downloaded it yesterday. the problem is "finding it". I've never had this problem before. i had to use the Torrent download program to download a Linux based OS. The program is it's 1.3GB in size and it was shown as "finished" downloading in the Torrent dialog box. I closed that program and went to my desktop, which is where i download all programs to, but it wasn't there. I searched everywhere for it. I CAN'T FIND IT! I checked my hard drive size and it's definetly 1.3GB larger than before the download so Fedora must be in there someplace.
Anyone have an idea where I can look to find it? this is the first, and hopefully, the last time this will happen. Thanks, Jim |

1. "desktop" doesn't hold that much and can get full fast 2. "everything" to your desktop is a bad idea 3. "someplace" well.. i hate to say this and it may not be true, but the last computer i fixed i was downloading a file to the desktop i realized that the desktop was almost full (data not icon wise) and it went poof. This may have been because the computer was infected though..... -blitze Last edited by Blitze105; 09-22-2005 at 03:00 PM. |

Yeah most of what he said isn't true
The XP desktop has no size restriction The only reason not to fill the desktop with files is a clutter issue The main problem is probally that bittorrent downloads to someplace different than the browser a search for iso files using the "*.iso" parameter should show you the directroy the buggers are in and pay attention next time you download a torrent, it asks you where to put it |

I have seen many errors where the desktop wouldn't hold enough for files, are you sure i am mistaken?

Topic: If you didn't find the stuff go to the Fedora website to get the iso's. The main ones are around 650 megabytes.
