Request: A complete sound diagnostic routine
I have been struggling with sound/sound control in
software for things like Realplayer for a long time. Is there a How to on diagnostics for sound and the solutiuons in Linux-- esp Simply Mepis or Demudi? I have learned that if I go: Kstart> Control Center> System> Sound the Sound Notifications window will give both sound and volume control in software. In any other applications, these fail. So there should be a way to get from sound notifications to sound in applications. Any directives, links or (preferably) a book source would be helpful. |

Well first off Linux is not Windows. The GUI, while looking nice, serves little or no actual purpose in system adminstration. You need to do your work through the terminal.
Now as far as your problem goes maybe you could explain a little better exactally what the problem is and which sound card your using. |
