Roll Eyes Sound Card Problem

Hi,
I have installed a New Sound Card in my red hat 9.0.

The card was installed and configured correctly.
Sound Card Info
Vendor : Cirrus Logic
Model :Crystal cs4281 PCI Audio
Module : cs4281

But while I'm trying to hear the sound (Sample Sound) I got the following error msg,

# redhat-config-soundcard
cs4281 : Device or Resource Busy
-8
cs4281 : Device or Resource Busy

#
What may the problem?
How can I resolve the issue?

Well I've read somewhere that if your system is new, RedHat won't dectect it because it is newer than the OS...... but I'm not 100% accurate on that....

How old is your rig?

Idea

nramasub, is your card built into the motherboard or is it an add in card? Model :Crystal cs4281 PCI Audio. One thing you could check is to go into the bios and make sure that that is is not sharing the same irq with another card for instance with the nic. It sounds like a resource conflict to me.

Send a message via AIM to stanthecaddy22
if you are using alsa try typing: "/etc/init.d/alsa force-reload"
then try testing a sound to see if it works.
