Wine And Cedega Are The Only Ones... And I'm sorry you have FC4, It's A Flop... There Are Many Errors With The Packets On There... If you can, try to install FC3 over the FC4 installation... Also, FC4 Come With yum... try this in the console

yum install wine

and it should go through a bunch of things, press 'y' for all of them, and it will download and install everything you need for wine...

in terminal, type:

su [then Enter]
[type in the password you chose for the root account, you did that after choosing packages]

[then you can type:]
yum install wine

and it should install it and do everything but tell you how to use it...sorry havent done that onoe either...not a clue...yet...

Not sure why I keep hearing that...I've had zero problems yet, and I've done more than what the average Windows user would already...Someone want to explain that line of reasoning to me?

EDIT: I've had no more problems than I did with FC3...

Well then maybe you should stop slamming it if you dont know....thats what initial versions of software are -unfortunately- like, nowadays...
(Personally, I think we can blame a certain software giant for giving that example, but hey, that's me...)

I'll admit that I didnt use the first release (it was out a few weeks old when I got my hands on it), but it seems perfectly stable to me....

ok guys ive decided im gonna uninstall FC4 and not use Linux, open source is good an all but because its not widely used on Home Pc's theres no good apps for it, i cant work wine and its just too much bother,I wud keep FC4 but i know i wud never use it, it wud be a wasted 10 gigs.Until Linux gets teh same recognition as Windows, im not gonna use it, not that im happy wiht windows, i mean as i am typing something is freexing up and crashing, but Im just gonna have to put up with it.

so how do i go about deleting FC4 are there any special things i need to do or do i just delete the partition.

well im using GRUB

I would keep it but FC4 just isnt scratching my itch, what Linux are u using lone?

And can you tell me how to compile wine so it will freaking work, the yum command you gave me doesnt seem to do anything, it will say its unpacking and installing files but then theres nothing, it will stop then theres nothing in my apps or nothing, i cant find it.

If i can get my windows apps and atleast a few games running on Linux I wil keep it.

Hey Ballistic, Does FC4 Come With YUM? But You Can't Make Linux Into Windows... I Use Gentoo, But It Doesn't Matter Really The Distro You Use... Just One More Question, Did You Install Grub onto You MBR or HDd?

Yeah it does, but it doesn't seem to find wine or cedega yums.....although the only repo i opened yet is livna-stable

YUM wont create the shortcut on the desktop for you, but anything new, it should put one into your 'Applications' menu

Ok, here's where it gets interesting...
Been trying to install Cedega/wineX from the instructions here http://frankscorner.org/index.php?p=cedegacvs

I do fine until I get to the ./tools/wineinstall part.
It goes into the installation, and then I get an error...
It ends with this, but I'll try and post a log in sec here, if I can:

Any ideas?

So If I Understand Right...

if((DWORD)rtp & 1) Is The Error Line A.K.A. 740?
If It IS, It Should Be
if((DWORD)rtp && 1)

Just one & is a bitwise operator, a mathmatical binary function, but two &&'s are a test for and...
