Confused mounting partitiosn

Alright, my latest project....

Bit of background info first...I've got partition1 as my NTFS winblows partition(sda1),
partition2(sda2) is split into a FAT32 data partition(sda5), my linux swap(sda6), and linux ext3 (sda7).

I'm trying to mount sda5, but no luck so far....read the manpages for mount, fstab and mtab, and I think I'm more confused than before...I just need to know what to do in what order so I can get this fixed...
