resolution settings

If I change my resolution settings beyond what my monitor can handle (for some reason FC isnt detecting the limits), is there a key combination of any kind that would restore the previous settings whitout requiring me to go root and edit X conf files?

First Off, Careful with those settings, you can short out your moniter. and i do believe you need root access to edit the xconf files, but just try xsetup...
