D-Link card under Mepis

Can't get MEPIS (nor Ubunto) to recognize my D-Link DWL-G510 wireless card.

It works great under XP so I know that the network is intact.

Thanks,
JF

There are two versions of that card. One uses the Atheros chipset, so you'd use the Madwifi drivers for it. The other uses the Marvell chipset. Don't know what drivers to use for that one. ndiswrapper would probably work if there aren't any Marvell drivers available for Linux. List the output from lspci in your next post.

Send a message via AIM to LoneWolf071
not Ispci, but Lspci, and also, try this, go to /etc/rc/ and look for a file called rc.wireless, if it's there, type ./rc.wireless start and see if you get anything.

In the terminal you can type
Code:
/sbin/lspci
lspci is usually only in the root user's path, but it can be run as a regular user. I gave you the full path, so you don't need to worry about it being in your path as long as you type it in the same as above (copy and paste works too).
