Knoppix download never finishes (from ftp srvr)
Sorry this isnt really a Q about knoppix or linux but more about the download - hope thats ok to do.
Batty_prof (thanks!!) provided me with a web-based link for site from which i can download knoppix (http://www.linux.org/dist/download.html?ID=185). The html page is slower than molasses... 10kb/s so thats of no use. When i try ftp the first server (leo.org) doesnt work - the second (uni-kl) works fine. I can get the smaller files but when i download the 700mb file it downloads nice and fast for about 20 minutes and at 99% (10 seconds to go) it just stops. I tried about 10 times on 2 diffrent machines and it always stops 10 seconds before finishing the download. I dont download much - especially using ftp so this isnt really my area of expertise. Any ideas ? Oh and i used I.E. to go to the ftp pages - then copied and pasted in a folder on my PC.

or the actual Knoppix site's download list.
http://www.knopper.net/knoppix-mirrors/index-en.html there is about 60 choices.... i'm sure one of them won't be slow.

When I d/l it, it took five hours. I've got it working now but haven't had much time to try and figure it out. My initial reaction to it is... 'what the heck is going on?'
I've figure out how to get online which is pretty simple, but I've got alot to learn.
