Editing Wine Registry.

Hi it has recently come to my attention that I need to make a few tweaks to my wine registry in order to play cod4. Basically I need to do this 6.

on console run “wine regedit” and then:

- in HKEY_CURRENT_USER-Software-Wine create, if it's doesn't already exists, a new key named Direct3D

- in Direct3D create the following strings with teh following values:

string: DirectDrawRenderer value: opengl

string: Nonpower2Mode value: repack

string: OffscreenRenderingMode value: fbo

string: RenderTargetLockMode value: auto

string: UseGLSL value: readtex

string: VideoMemorySize value: (memory size of your graphic card)

taken from the winehq website and I dont really know what to do once I enter the registry so that wine recognizes and uses everything properly.

I need a step by step guide to making these adjustments work, thanks.

Hi,

If you found this on the winehq site I would recommend that you go to them for help. I know that basics of wine but nothing this complex.

Cheers!

Re: Editing Wine Registry.

According to this howto, they got it working without editing the (fake) wine registry:

Re: Editing Wine Registry.

Ok thanks for the advice I followed some of the stuff from the above link and it looks and runs well, except for strange punkbuster problems.

Hi,

What problem are you having with punkbuster? I don't believe that punkbuster works with wine.

Cheers!
