problems installing with wine
I had a friend of mine install linux on my system awhile back and he installed wine so I can run some games such as WOW and civilizations. I could not get wow to install from my cd and have tried downloading a couple games but get stalled. When I try to run the WOW disk it wont auto run and when I try to get it to run from the cd menu it just pops up a small window saying error. The download just wont run when I try to start it.
The start up also comes up with an error saying something about "$home is unable to save settings so will run default settings for user" and something about needing 644 permissions. can't remember exactly what it says. any help would be great. |

Re: problems installing with wine
Hi,
If you could get the exact error that would be wonderful. As for WoW were you able to get it to run from the cd before, and what version of WoW are you currently running? Cheers!
