Uninstalling Ubuntu
I can't access windows now because I'm getting a GRUB 22 error. When my laptop's battery died, it restarted, and that's when I started getting the error. I already reinstalled ubuntu twice but every time my laptop restarts, I get the same error message and I can't do anything from there except to put the ubuntu disk in and try "without changes to your computer". How do I uninstall ubuntu?

Re: Uninstalling Ubuntu
It sounds like you were setup in a dual boot windows / ubuntu setup. I think the easiest fix for you would be to run a windows repair from your windows installation disk.
What versions of Windows are you running?

Re: Uninstalling Ubuntu
it sounds to me you are in a need of a new mbr "master boot record"
i don´t know how much you know about the mbr or linux so i pretend you know only how to use ubuntu for everyday use the master boot record is where you boot the operating system "ubuntu / windows" when installing ubuntu you overwrite windows mbr so the system cant tell where your windows is located, instead ubuntu replace the original mbr with its own "called grub" this fancy one lets you decide what system you want to operate from your description your grub is broken somehow and it cant locate any operating system anymore however this can also be another issue "i once had" i remember messing around with options in BIOS about the hard drive, if i were you i would try to mess a bit around and see if you get different errors what i recall it was something about the size of the disk how big are your hard disk ? if you got a strong will google "super grub" and maybe "mbr search" i´m all sad to say this but if you really wish to remove ubuntu forever make a backup of your windows and ubuntu files "you want to keep" run a killdisk and reinstall windows... |

Re: Uninstalling Ubuntu
The windows non destructive repair should repair your MBR.
I am working on a guide for this and will post it when I have it ready. For now this guide should get the job done for you. http://www.informationweek.com/news/...leID=189400897

Re: Uninstalling Ubuntu
if you repair the MBR to a windows i dont think its able to detect the ubuntu OS
so you need to format your ubuntu, windows cant detect ubuntu the linux filetype therefore use ubuntu live cd to format your ubuntu partition then do the repair |
