Linix install problem
I have an older model hp running xp. I have Ubuntu 7.04 and installation seems to freeze even before partitioning prompt comes up. I have re-tried time and again and still no joy. I have also restored my xp but this was no help. My pc is running sweet though. Any idea's would be much appreciated.

Re: Linix install problem
Have you tried using one of the other Ubuntu variates? If you're using an older PC then you might want to give Xubuntu a try. It doesn't require as much in the way of resources as Ubuntu does and Xubuntu is designed to run on older machines.

Re: Linix install problem
Ubuntu 7.04 is rather old, and may contain many bugs. Try the latest Ubuntu (9.04) or wait for 9.10 which is coming out in a couple of weeks. They have fixed tons of old bugs.
