Can't open .exe file

Some how in lynx I can't open a .exe file

. It opens avg_free_stb_all_8_32_cnet.exe in Archive Manager. I downloaded the file

That is a Windows program, so it will not run on Linux. What do you mean by "in lynx" you cannot open a .exe? lynx is a command line web browser. Do you mean Linux?

If you want anti-virus software on Linux, you should look at ClamAV. A Linux version of AVG does exist though. I'd be more concerned about verifying that you have a secure firewall configuration and maybe rkhunter (rootkit hunter). SELinux is also available for enhancing security.
