[SOLVED] MANDRIVA-ethernet HELP PLEASE?

hi thanks for reading my thread. i have a compaq presario S5000NX and i have two hdd's on seprete cables. i have win XP one and mandriva 2009.1 on other on the xp every things OK but if i boot up mandriva i lose my ethernet connection it shows in the hardware, but it wont connect. the light on my DSL box wont even light up. every thing was working fine. i was geting some updates. after that i played some games and stuff went back to XP done some stuff went back to mand. and no internet. every thing i know to do i have done and that's not alot. i have tryed a few linox os like ubuntu,trisqul,exc i'm no expert, just basic. PLEASE HELP. thanhs 12volt

OK, so you got some updates on Mandriva, correct? Do you recall what updates you received?

thanks K-B but i fixed that, now i have NEW problems. thanks anyway. i will post my new problems now.
