[SOLVED] No OS will work
I was using ubuntu 9.04 for awhile then someone told me about arch linux and I decided to give that a try while installing it I had to partition the hard drive and since then there has been problem after problem. I was unable to install arch linux so I then tried to install linux mint and was faced with buffer I/O error on device sr0 samething when I tried to reinstall ubuntu. Then when I tried installing xp I got a hard disk not found error. Help please.

Re: No OS will work
Hi,
Welcome to TSF!! First thing that we need to do is make sure that the hdd is able to be seen by the computer. I would like you to boot up your computer and then boot into the bois.I am guessing that you know how to do that, but if not you can have a look at this site it has a listing of a lot of different motherboards and bios manufacturers. From there you can figure out how to boot up. Next I want you to make sure that you are able to find your hdd in your bios. If you are able to see the hdd then we are in good shape. If you can't see the hdd, then we have another bigger issue that needs to be taken care of first. So let me not get ahead of myself, I will leave you with this task first and then go from what you find out and post in your next reply. Cheers!
