acer aspire 150 1gb ram 120gb HDD linux

hi all

I have purchased one of the above .

I have had it for 16 days and now it will not boot.

also the power will not turn off unless I remove the power and the battery.

this is what happens.

i hit the start switch and the external cd drive blinks 4 times the power light is on the screen is black but nothing shows on it ever

I can hear the fan going .

even if i remove the external cd drive it does the same (but without the flashing cd)

has anyone any ideas
I am not into taking it apart because of the warranty but any thoughts
would be welcome

Hi Marshall,

What OS do you have on the acer? Also, if you have only had it for 16 days could you bring it back to the store and talk to them? I totally understand not wanting to take it apart, plus in inside of a laptop isn't conducive to that anyway.

I would try that and see what they say.

Hi,

I would return it to the store and see what they can tell you. I have heard some stories about acers having issues.

I have returned with an RMA and the email indicates they will replace if faulty

So I'll wait and see
