GAH so many questions

why would I want to install GNOME, or KDE desktop environments?

I was thinking of going with slackware, because I already have it downloaded...

If I was going to run a webserver, which of the following packages should I install?:

You can get by on package sets A, AP and N which should give you all you need for just a webserver. Beware though you'll have no graphical applications. You may also want package set D just in case you decide to compile stuff from source =)
