Question connecting to internet with Puppy

I have setup the network wireless lan and looks like everything is working. Blinky showing and info seems to be sending and receiving.
But the problem I have is when I go to the browser to get on to the internet is shows Page Load Error and address not found. I really don't know what to do. I am not familiar with Linux but am wanting to learn. I would appreciate any help.

Hi,

Welcome to TSF!!

I would like you to open a Terminal which is like command in windows. To do this go to Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal. From there I would like you to enter or copy the following command:
Code:
iwconfig <- this will list wireless information
ping 74.14.213.103 <- this will try to reach google by IP address. Wait a few seconds and then hit CTRL+C
Then post the output. This will tell us if you are connected to the internet or just your home network.

Cheers!

Re: connecting to internet with Puppy

Hi,

Is that with the fist command or the second? You should get some information with the 'iwconfig' command. If you aren't getting anything then we have a different issue. Try that to start and we can go from there.

Cheers!

Re: connecting to internet with Puppy

Hi,

It would appear that you aren't connected to anything wirelessly. I found this tutorial that should help you out. Let me know if it works or not and we can try a couple of other things.

Cheers!
