Re: How can you upgrade an Asus Eee PC 701 on Linux to XP?
One way is like this .. there are many ways of doing it all variations of this theme and others
![]() First I would check to see if anyone has ever successfully installed XP on one or if it was ever sold as an XP pre-installed laptop. if the answer to either is yes, then purchase an XP Installation CD, They are still available as far as I know. Back up your current installation (make an image of the hard drive) to an external drive. Use GParted Live CD to delete the current partitions. Create a new Partition in NTFS. Boot from the XP Installation CD, Hit enter to install, hit F8 to agree to the EULA. select your NTFS partition and install. This is assuming that you don't want to keep your current installation. also if you don't want to try to recover your Linux install should you decide you made a mistake, don't bother making the image to an external drive
