Issue with Nagios

Hi All,
I want to know is there is some simple way to add host and service on nagios server . We generally go here /usr/local/nagios/etc/objects and add host one by one and accordingly their resp services. If we have to add 1000 hosts then we have to define 1000 hosts under any one of the .cfg file and for a host we define say 4 service then we have to define 4000 services. If this is the case then this is a major drawback.
Will appreciate any suggestions.

Re: Issue with Nagios

At my business we use the Nagios Network Monitor. I know you said Nagios server, but we use the FOSS software for monitoring our servers, DSL connections, etc. You can set it up to page you when there is an alert or problem with any equipment.

Re: Issue with Nagios

Hi All ,
Sorry to use Nagios Server, Server on which Nagios Application is installed(Or Monitoring Server). My question is instead of adding new .cfg file under /usr/local/nagios/etc/objects for monitoring new hosts and it resp services. Is there any way other than this. And how do I change the look of the site(http://localhost/nagios) like i want the website to be RED and so on.
Any suggestions will be appreciated .
