Is there a speech recognition software (option) for Ubuntu?

Well no. That is "Text to Speech." I was thinking of "Speech to Text". Vista can do it but XP cannot.

Sorry for that, I guess I didn't look closely enough. I did find this page from Wikipedia. I believe that it should have some ideas for you. If not I can try and find something else for you.
