Tripwire and regular package updates
Hi
I am using Debian Linux and I am running a cron-job that updates my packages every day. If I install tripwire, which also is run from cron regularly, Tripwires result every day will show all the modified files by the update by the package system. What I would like is having the package update, after an update, tell tripwire that "hey these changes is done by me and are OK, so don't report them, just update/include them in tripwire-database silently" Is this possible or wise? |

I'm from the "old school" if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Therefore, after the initial install, and the update that follows, I don't bother with updates unless I find it's possible to enhance an application I use. Perhaps I'm a fool, but I'm not aware that I've had a problem. I don't think even "swiss cheese security windoze" updates daily do they?

Daily updates
I forgot to mention that I am using Debian Linux the "testing" version, which sometimes is broken. So because of me wanting "almost bleeding edge" debian packages, I do the updates. It's just my home-computer and not a mission critical server

Debian benefits from users like you when you find things that aren't perfected, and report your findings using "Bugzilla" And since it's all open source, all distributions benefit.
