Question [SOLVED] Need help installing Puppy Linux on old computer.

I'm trying to install Puppy Linux 4.2 on a 9 year old computer using a live cd. For some reason my bios doesn't have a one time boot menu(the screen where you select what to boot from instead of the bios selecting it for you). So how do I install Puppy if I can't install it that way. Can I install it after I boot into Windows. Could I install it at boot up without manually selecting it. there are no problems with the cd itself, I checked it by using the live cd on my laptop.

Sounds like you need to use a start up floppy disk?

Hi,

Are you able to change the boot order so that it will boot from the CD. You should be able to do that from inside of the BIOS. Then you can change it back once you are done installing Puppy.

Cheers!

Re: Need help installing Puppy Linux on old computer.

Since I can change the boot order It just happens that there isn't possible to boot from an IDE CD-drive only something like apati cd I'm going to install Puppy on it from floppy. I checked on-line and Puppy's website said that I could and told me how. Thanks for helping everyone!
