Opensuse 11.1 intaller

ok i downloaded opensuse intaller on my compaq presario and i started installing it off of windows vista. After i installed it i just rebooted my computer and i got two options: vista or opensuse 11.1 intaller (local)...no matter which option i click i get error 17: couldn't locate file...now i cant get into my computer no matter what...

ps. when i get error 17 it says at the top starting opensuse 11.1 (net)

please help..i need my computer for work and all my files are there and i have no way of recovering them now

Suse is well known for trashing the MBR. Have a look at EasyBCD. I have very little experience with Vista but I do know it has the FIXMBR ability.

Hi,

Can you get to Vista? If so you can work on your mbr. But I want to make sure that you are able to get to one OS first.

If push comes to shove, you can always put a XP disc or maybe your original Vista disc into your drive and boot the OS and install. From there you can install OpenSuse?

Just an idea if stuff really gets screwed up. Have a good day!

ya i dont have installer discs for vista and my xp ones are dell and only work on a dell cpmputer so i have no option other than geting my computer formattted by a pro but ill still wait one week if any one has any ideas

Did you have a look at this? If so can you answer it so that I can come up with some solutions that don't have you going to a pro.
