Linux not booting?
When I select Linux as the operating system I want to use, it stops booting on "Checking battery state..." I tried all the different options it gives me after I press Esc to go to the menu. Can someone help with this?

Re: Linux not booting?
I have no clue what ACPI is, and I don't know if I installed them. The drive I was trying to boot from didn't have a letter assigned to it. Could that have been the problem?

Re: Linux not booting?
Linux doesn't use drive letters, rather a different filesystem completely. That wouldn't be the problem.
The drivers Hollow is referring to are video drivers such as nvidia or ati. They can cause the same hang during boot. Has Linux ever booted after you installed it? You would need to have installed the drivers yourself. That might rule that out. Are you using GRUB to boot?

Re: Linux not booting?
How about which Linux distro you're running?
Also - you'll need to (try it) boot to a single-user environment and output the results of a couple quick commands. If you're ready -- just say so. |
