ADSL with Alcatel Speedtouch Home Pro
I am using Windows 2000 internet server and was shared to 10 computers as for now i want to change the OS to Redhat 8.0, and i tried to search on the net on how to connect my ADSL connection and shared to the worstations.
My setup is : modem >>> eth0 >>> computer (dial) eth1 >>> Switch >>> Stations..... eth0 IP : 10.0.0.1 Sub: 255.255.255.0 gate: 10.0.0.138 pdns: 194.133..129.2 sdns: 66.110.113.3 eth1 IP: 192.168.0.1 ( sharing ) sub: 255.255.255.0 I have to dial-up with username and password to connect the net. I want this to work on my Linux box and share to the stations with Windows XP OS. Thanks! |

Linux should already have support for ADSL. You just need to leave it at the default of DHCP for the IP address and set the username/password for PPPoE. However, I would recommend not using RedHat 8 or 9 as they're both old and out of date, nor are they supported any longer. If you want to stick with the RH line, then I'd suggest going with Fedora.
