The rule I used to open UDP ports 67 and 68 in iptables on Fedora Core 1 are as follows;
iptables -A RH-Firewall-1-INPUT -p udp --dport 67:68 -j ACCEPT -A = Append -p = Protocol -j = Jump (I think, it passes to the rule, in this case ACCEPT, basically you prefix rules such as ACCEPT or RETURN with -j) Once I saved to /etc/sysconfig/iptables I noticed that FC1 had added -m to my rule (just after -p udp), does this have something to do with modprobe? Not to bad for a total newbie if I do say so myself, I've only been using Linux for a few weeks!!!
