Disck Checking in RH Enterprise 3
I have a drive that i suspect may have some bad blocks/sectors.
What is the equivalent to windows chkdsk in Red Hat 3 Enterprise? |

1) Mount the partition as Readonly (or boot up in single user an force all partitions to be read only)
2) /sbin/fsck -fv /dev/sdxx (where xx is the partition). Do a /sbin/fsck --help to see all the options. Also take a look at the "mklost_found" program. It makes the lost+found directory. |
