asus eeepc help!
I bought my son the eeepc 4gb and have had real trouble with connecting to my wireless network at home. It shows a 100% signal and my other laptop connects fine but the asus gets stuck and shows status as pending. It did connect after about 15 minutes but have had no luck since. Please help!

Re: asus eeepc help!
The fact that you have managed on one occasion connected via wireless gives the impression that you have (or had, in case you have changed anything since then) configured everything correctly.
Normally the reasons for not connecting are incorrect passwords and SSID. Initially you could remove those from your router pending the time that you get a good signal and stable connection. Assuming that the conditions under which you made the original connection haven't changed .. what you need to do is ensure that you have no environmental conditions that might be inhibiting or interfering with connection. This means ensuring that you have minimum no of obstructions between the send and receive parts of the wireless connections. Also there should be a minimum radio pollution from other gadgets which will be transmitting in the area. By that I mean things like motors, mobile phones, rooftop Mobile phone aerials, wireless computer gadgets that might be transmitting on the same or similar frequencies - even being too close to a strong signal or too far away from a weak signal. You mention having 100% signal .. have you tried configuring the wireless router and receiver to self adjust power requirements according to needs? Have you tried moving the PC a bit farther away from the router ? Change it's place in the room where it's being used .. tried another PC and receiver in the same place as the Asus?
