Virtualbox & XP disk & Ubuntu
I have rather powerful laptop that came with no OS so I put Ubuntu 8.04 on it and then WinXP Prof
then I download the latest Virtualbox via package manager with the intention of viewing XP from within Ubuntu. I then had all kinds of problems trying to achieve this and read much information on the subject some of it that could paralyse the brain but I eventually was able to get virtualbox to see the CDDVD and I can now install XP with virtualbox. My question is do I NOT need XP on the computer if I install from virtualbox and could therefore un-install XP. I would appreciate any information. |

Re: Virtualbox & XP disk & Ubuntu
Hi,
You can uninstall XP if you want. It is all a matter of tastes. I have dualbooted most of my computers, with the dedicated server being the only exception. I have never really played games or anything like that on virtualbox so I don't really know what to tell you about that. What I have used with vitualbox has been good, but it was mostly for testing purposes. I still keep my windows computer around. Just in case. Cheers!
