Problem setting up Fedora DS
Hi,
I am having a problem setting up my DS server. I am just setting this up so that I can learn about it and figure out how everything works. So it isn't like I need it fixed for my business. That being said, I went all the way through the setup guide and then I got to the end and was given an error message that said: Quote:
Code:
[09/01/05:21:34:09] - [Setup] Info Are you ready to set up your servers? [09/01/05:21:34:16] - [Setup] Info yes [09/01/05:21:34:16] - [Setup] Info Creating directory server . . . [09/01/05:21:34:16] - [Setup] Info Could not create directory '/usr/lib/dirsrv/slapd-fedora'. Error: Permission denied [09/01/05:21:34:16] - [Setup] Fatal Error: Could not create directory server instance 'fedora'. [09/01/05:21:34:16] - [Setup] Fatal Exiting . . . Log file is '/tmp/setupxYklk_.log' Any help would be great. Cheers!

Re: Problem setting up Fedora DS
The log errors are indicative that you don't have the privileges to install/create those directories. Are you running the install as "root"?
Either run do a "su" or "sudo" to do the install. (Your query didn't say anything about the install user). |
