im about to install fedora core with some question.s
hellow how is every doing? havnt posted latly
anyways here is my delama im download fedora core 10 and is there a way to start windows xp and fedora core at the same time? i know its something to do with the virtual something? any ideas or suggestions? |

Hi,
Here are you options. First you can keep windows installed and then get a program like vmware player. Then you can get a vmware version of the OS that you want. I have this running on my vista machine. They other option is that you can install Fedora. It isn't called Fedora Core anymore, just so you know. Then you can get a program like Virtualbox. Then install Windows from the install cd. The third option is to do a dualboot. That is to keep your windows install, then partition you hdd and install Fedora on the other partitions. This seems to be the most popular right now. But I would recommend that you try out the virtual idea first. It will give you a sense of what linux is about and what distro you would want to you. thank you for the reply yea cause my dad was saying i can have windows running and have the fedora core running too? like in a tab. an i think thats what the virtual box is right?

Yes that is correct. There are a couple of programs one is virtual box and the other is vmware. They essentially do the same thing. Just with different coding. Cheers!
