Quickbooks??
I am new Linux and Ubuntu and was wondering if Quickbooks can be installed on Ubuntu or any other Linux OS??

Not in raw form:
BUT---> You can use gnucash (which I use) which is free. OR Install the free VMware version, load XP/Vista and install Quickbooks and run it there. Once you install VMware, all of windows is installable and will run. OR Install WINE and run Quickbooks under WINE. (I have never tried Quickbooks under WINE, so it might not run there). Hope this helps. |

There's an import function that says it can do QIF files. I haven't used Quickbooks myself, but as long as it's exported as a QIF it should work.

I started fresh. GNUCash doesn't have all the functionality of Quickbooks. I use it for my personal checking and do Invoices for my consulting. The Invoice part is a lot different than Quickbooks (I like Quickbooks invoice's better). The reason I quit Quickbooks is that the software contacts Symantic(?) every time it starts up.
