Hard Mounting Samba Share With SuSe 9.2

Hi All,

I have a problem hard mounting to a samba share on one of our servers. I could soft mount it everytime but can not hard mount. Have any of you run into this before with SuSe 9.2?

With 9.1 I could soft and hard mount to the server. Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What I did was made a directory in /mnt called (whatever). Then I used this command: mount -t smbfs -o username=(username),password=(password) //server/share /mnt/(whatever).

It could see the mount but when I try to access the mount threw Konquer or a browser, all I get is access denied. All the folders have a lock on it. But when I soft mount it, I could access whatever I want to access.

The server is running SuSe Linux Standard Server 8. I cannot create Unix users on the server (only Samba users). I beleive the uid and groupid is incorrect so I cannot hard mount. Is this true?

I have been trying to resolve this issue with no success. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
