MPD hangs on Linux Arm

Dear Linux Support forum,
I am having a problem with MPD hangs when stopping the music. Killing the mpd processes is not working and I need to reboot the unit.

Here is the configuraiton:
The CPU is ARM on D-Link DNS-323 Network Area Storage (NAS)
Kernel is 2.6.12.6-arm1
Sound card is USB Turtle Beach
I have loaded sound modules:
insmod kernel/sound/soundcore.ko
insmod kernel/sound/core/snd-page-alloc.ko
insmod kernel/sound/core/snd.ko
insmod kernel/sound/core/snd-hwdep.ko
insmod kernel/sound/core/snd-timer.ko
insmod kernel/sound/core/snd-pcm.ko
insmod kernel/sound/core/oss/snd-mixer-oss.ko
insmod kernel/sound/core/oss/snd-pcm-oss.ko
insmod kernel/drivers/usb/class/audio.ko
insmod kernel/sound/core/seq/snd-seq-device.ko
insmod kernel/sound/core/snd-rawmidi.ko
insmod kernel/sound/usb/snd-usb-lib.ko
insmod kernel/sound/usb/snd-usb-audio.ko

MPD plays music!
MPD clients are:
1) Ario 1.1 on Windows XP
2) phpMp2 on the DNS-323

What works:
The MPD creates PID, state file, creates-db, and play music.
What doesn't work:
Clicking Stop, or Next song with the Ario client breaks MPD, which stops responding and loses connection with the client. Kill and killall does not stops the MPD sessions. The only option is to reboot the unit.

Would you be able suggesting where should I be looking for the possible problem?
I am at lost; so close to get the unit working, but with such a problem that I cannot overcome.

Thanks,

Ale99
