OS: suse enterprise 10

Hi my acpid deamon is not working
I am running on suse enterprise 10 and my daemon is not running therefore it wont load up to my desktop automatically.
any suggestions? thanks |

Go to the directory (as root) "/etc/init.d". There should be a file there called "acpid". If it isn't there, then the daemon (and supporting files) were not installed.
Now restart the daemon by "./acpid restart" (don't forget the leading dot slash). See if there are any error messages that were spit out. As soon as you see if there were any error messages, then do a "dmesg" from the command line. Lots of lines will go by, but the acpid daemon out put will be the last few lines. See if there are any error messages. |
