WiFi
Hi, I just installed Linux Ubunt 8.04. I'm using a Netgear WG111v2 adapter. I put in the CD that came with it but Linux isn't reading the disk. Can someone please help?

Re: WiFi
Welcome to TSF!!
Hi, Here is why you aren't able to install your wireless drivers. The install cd only has .exe (executable) files on it. Those files don't install by default on a linux OS. For Ubuntu you will need to find .deb which stands for debian. I did a search and found that netgear doesn't have any linux drivers. That being said, there is still hope. I would recommend that you take a look at Ndiswrapper. It is a program that allows users to install windows drivers on linux computers. It should work for you. If you have any problems with it just let us know. Cheers!

Re: WiFi
Well, I had it working before. It lasted about 3 minutes or so. Someone told me to pull up the Network Manager and type in cydo into the wireless. I put ndiswrapper on the computer but still seems to be doing nothing.

Re: WiFi
Hi,
Are you getting any errors from ndiswrapper when you lost the connection, or when you try to connect? Where inthe Newtork Manager are you tying cydo? I am not familiar with that command? A little bit more info would be helpful. Cheers!
