Re: Suse linux Mail problem

Welcome to TSF!!

Hi,

My first question is are both of them up-to-date with all the latest versions and patches. I noticed that on the fetchmail site there was an announcement about a couple of vulnerabilities that were found and that there was a patch out to fix them.

So I would start with that. Also, can you see the headers of the messages that are being blocked. I would take a look at them and see if there is any pattern between them like they are all from the same person, or the same server.

Cheers!

Re: Suse linux Mail problem

What does "/root/.fetchmailrc "have in it. Is there a size limit in that file? I use fetchmail but don't have any problems downloading any sized file. (Though comcast.net, my provider, has a 20 meg. limit).

There is a size limit on the fetchmail command line that limits the size of files it will download. You might take a look with "ps" to see what the command line is for fetchmail when it is kicked off. I run mine as a daemon that is started in "rc.local". My command lines in rc.local are:

# start fetchmail -- make sure HOME is last in this file
HOME=/root
/usr/bin/fetchmail -d 600 --syslog

This essentially just says start a fetch every 600 seconds and write errors to the syslog.

Hope this helps.
